About the album

This is an album of airs and soundscapes.

The unique timbre of harp and shakuhachi inspired us to ‘paint’ the sounds of the natural world. Living near the coast, one of my great passions —snorkelling—has led me to take a pledge to bring awareness to the Great Southern Reef and find out more about the Kelp Forest Alliance

While listening, we invite you to imagine yourself swimming above a kelp forest, taking in the pace and beauty of life under the sea.  The organic underwater tempo will help get you into the ‘flow’.

Riley’s meditative phrasing, has given me a fresh interpretation of music I grew up with.  The harp is an integral part of Ireland’s rich oral history.  While these airs were largely sourced from the golden era of harping in the 17th Century, many of the melodies harken back to even older times, giving them a distinct timelessness.

Golden apple lullabies 2010

The lilting harp blends magically with Wendy Twibill’s warm and loving vocals to create these gentle lullabies. You and your child will enjoy singing rocking and humming to these songs over and over. Listen on bandcamp.
